    Minister for Resources and Critical Minerals

    Board of Examiners (Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 and Mining & Quarrying Safety & Health Act 1999)
    The Board's functions are to decide the competencies necessary for holders of certificates of competency; to assess applicants, or have applicants assessed, for certificates of competency; to grant certificates of competency to persons who have demonstrated to the board’s satisfaction the appropriate competencies necessary to hold the certificates and to ensure the competencies under the Acts are consistent with the competencies required by other States for holders of certificates of competency.
    Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee
    The Committee’s functions include: •giving advice and making recommendations to the Minister about promoting and protecting the safety and health of persons at coal mines and persons who may be affected by coal mining operations; •periodically reviewing the effectiveness of the control of risk to any person from coal mining operations; •recognising, establishing and publishing the coal mining competencies that are required to perform certain roles or tasks; •developing a 5-year strategic plan for improving the safety and health of people at coal mines and people who may be affected by coal mining operations; •identifying and prioritising critical risks to the safety and health of people at coal mines and people who may be affected by coal mining operations and providing advice to the coal mining industry about those risks; •providing information to the Minister about the performance of RSHQ.
    Commissioner for Resources Safety and Health
    Under the Resources Safety and Health Queensland Act 2020 (the Act),the functions of the Commissioner are to: • advise the Minister on matters relating to safety and health in the resources sector; • respond to requests by the Minister for advice on particular matters, including, for example, the strategic direction of RSHQ; • chair the coal mining safety and health advisory committee; • chair the mining safety and health advisory committee; • engage with representatives of the explosives sector, and petroleum and gas sector, about promoting and protecting the safety and health of persons who may be affected by the operation of those sectors; • monitor, review, and report to the Minister on the performance of RSHQ’s functions; perform any other functions given to the Commissioner under the Act or another Act.
    Gasfields Commission
    The Gasfields Commission (the commission) was established to manage and improve the sustainable co-existence of landholders, regional communities and the onshore gas industry in Queensland. The commission will also establish a database of conduct and compensation agreements and make aggregated information publicly available.
    Land Access Ombudsman
    The Land Access Ombudsman provides a low cost alternative to legal action for landholders and resource companies who have a dispute about a conduct and compensation agreement or a make good agreement. Currently there is no Board or Advisory Council for the Land Access Ombudsman.

    Resources Medical Advisory Committee
    The purpose of RMAC is to provide independent, strategic medical advice to the Minister and Resources Safety and Health Queensland that will support the regulatory framework in place to protect the health of Queensland’s resource sector workers. This will include consideration of current opportunities for improvement, as well as emerging occupational health hazards and issues affecting Queensland resource sector workers.
    Surveyors Board of Queensland
    (a) to establish competency frameworks for qualifying persons for registration and registration endorsements and to accredit entities for assessing the competency of persons under the competency frameworks; (b) to assess applicants for registration and registration endorsements and to keep a register of registrants; (c) to monitor registrants' compliance with disciplinary conditions of registration and where necessary authorise investigations of registrants' professional conduct; (d) to take disciplinary matters, for hearing, to professional conduct review panels and surveyors disciplinary committees; (e) to perform other functions as give to the board under this or another Act.
    Valuation Objection Conferences
    Chairpersons encourage full disclosure of relevant information from the parties prior to the objection conference and, if satisfied with disclosure, arrange and conduct the conference.
    Valuers Registration Board of Queensland
    To afford a measure of protection in the public interest of the State of Queensland by regulating the academic qualifications and valuing experience required of applicants for registration as Valuers and ensuring they are of good character and have the necessary competence. Receive complaints against Valuers and take disciplinary action where deemed necessary. Maintain a register of Valuers and a list of Specialist Retail Valuers.
