    The functions of the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) under the Education (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005 are to: Grant registration or permission to teach (PTT) to persons: This includes deciding what is required to satisfy initial and ongoing eligibility for registration and PTT; ensuring approved teachers continue to meet the eligibility requirements; developing or adopting, and applying, professional standards for entry to the teaching profession; Test applicants for registration in relation to literacy, numeracy or science Disciplining approved teachers – receiving and assessing complaints, conducting investigations, and taking appropriate action. Approve preservice teacher education programs Other functions such as undertaking reviews and research relevant to the regulation of the teaching profession; collecting data about approved teachers, promoting the teaching profession to the public Reporting to the Minister about the operation of the QCT.

    The functions of a board are: (a) to supervise, maintain and control the operations of the board’s school; (b) to erect, alter, add to, purchase or sell buildings used or to be used for the board’s school; (c) to effect general improvements to the premises used or to be used for the board’s school; (d) to provide an educational program for the board’s school; (e) to make policies and procedures about— (i) fees and charges payable in relation to students enrolled or to be enrolled at the board’s school; and (ii) the discipline and conduct of students enrolled at the board’s school; and (iii) the management and control of the board’s school; and (iv) the matters mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (d); (f) any other function given to the board under this Act or another Act.

    Board of Trustees of the Ipswich Girls' Grammar School

    Board of Trustees of the Rockhampton Girls Grammar School

    Board of Trustees of The Rockhampton Grammar School
    The functions of a board are: (a) to supervise, maintain and control the operations of the board’s school; (b) to erect, alter, add to, purchase or sell buildings used or to be used for the board’s school; (c) to effect general improvements to the premises used or to be used for the board’s school; (d) to provide an educational program for the board’s school; (e) to make policies and procedures about— (i) fees and charges payable in relation to students enrolled or to be enrolled at the board’s school; and (ii) the discipline and conduct of students enrolled at the board’s school; and (iii) the management and control of the board’s school; and (iv) the matters mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (d); (f) any other function given to the board under this Act or another Act.
    Board of Trustees of the Toowoomba Grammar School
    The functions of a board are: (a) to supervise, maintain and control the operations of the board’s school; (b) to erect, alter, add to, purchase or sell buildings used or to be used for the board’s school; (c) to effect general improvements to the premises used or to be used for the board’s school; (d) to provide an educational program for the board’s school; (e) to make policies and procedures about— (i) fees and charges payable in relation to students enrolled or to be enrolled at the board’s school; and (ii) the discipline and conduct of students enrolled at the board’s school; and (iii) the management and control of the board’s school; and (iv) the matters mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (d); (f) any other function given to the board under this Act or another Act.
    Board of Trustees of the Townsville Grammar School
    The functions of a board are: (a) to supervise, maintain and control the operations of the board’s school; (b) to erect, alter, add to, purchase or sell buildings used or to be used for the board’s school; (c) to effect general improvements to the premises used or to be used for the board’s school; (d) to provide an educational program for the board’s school; (e) to make policies and procedures about— (i) fees and charges payable in relation to students enrolled or to be enrolled at the board’s school; and (ii) the discipline and conduct of students enrolled at the board’s school; and (iii) the management and control of the board’s school; and (iv) the matters mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (d); (f) any other function given to the board under this Act or another Act.

    The Council is the university’s governing body. The university's functions are to provide education at university standard; provide facilities for, and encourage, study and research; encourage the advancement and development of knowledge, and its application to government, industry, commerce and the community; provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; confer higher education awards; disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university; and to perform other functions given to the university under the Griffith University Act 1998 or another Act.
    Council of James Cook University
    The functions of the university are to provide education at university standard; to provide facilities for, and to encourage, study and research generally and, in particular, in subjects of special importance to the people of the tropics; to provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; to confer higher education awards; to disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; to provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university’s staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; to exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university;; to perform other functions given to the university under the JCU Act or another Act.
    Council of the Central Queensland University
    The university's functions are to provide education at university standard; provide facilities for, and encourage, study and research; encourage the advancement and development of knowledge, and its application to government, industry, commerce and the community; provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; confer higher education awards; disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university; and to perform other functions given to the university under the CQU Act 1998 or another Act.
    Council of the Queensland University of Technology
    The functions of the university are to provide education at university standard; to provide facilities for, and to encourage, study and research; to encourage the advancement and development of knowledge, and its application to government, industry, commerce and the community; to provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; to confer higher education awards; to disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; to provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses of the university; to exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university, including, for example, study, research or knowledge, or the practical application of study, research or knowledge, belonging to the university, whether alone or with someone else; to perform other functions given to the university under the Queensland University of Technology Act 1998 or another Act.
    Council of the University of Southern Queensland
    The University's functions are to provide education at university standard; provide facilities for, and encourage, study and research; encourage the advancement and development of knowledge and its application to government, industry, commerce and the community; provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; confer higher education awards; disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university; and perform other functions given to the university under the USQ Act 1998 or another Act.
    Council of the University of the Sunshine Coast
    Functions of the University include providing education at university standard; providing facilities for, and encouraging study and research, encouraging the advancement and development of knowledge and its application to government, industry, commerce and the community; providing courses of study or instruction at the levels of achievement the Council considers appropriate; conferring higher education awards; and disseminating knowledge and promoting scholarship; providing facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; exploiting commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university, including, for example, study, research or knowledge, or the practical application of study, research or knowledge, belonging to the university, whether alone or with someone else; and performing other functions given to the university under the USC Act or another Act.
    Non-State Schools Accreditation Board
    The functions of the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board include to: (a) assess applications for accreditation of non-state schools; (b) accredit non-state schools; (c) assess and decide applications about a non-state school’s governing body’s eligibility for government funding; (d) keep a register of accredited schools; (e) monitor and enforce compliance with the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2017 (the Act); (f) conduct investigations about contraventions of, or noncompliance with, the Act; (g) examine, and advise the Minister about, the operation of the accreditation and eligibility for government funding schemes under the Act, including, for example, the examining of and reporting on a matter referred to the board by the Minister; and (h) carry out another function given to the Board under the Act or another Act.
    Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education and Training Advisory Committee
    Provides advice to the Queensland Government on education and training matters related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
    Queensland Advisory Committee to the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB)
    AMEB provides a program of examinations for music, speech and drama in Australia. AMEB Ltd is a company wholly owned by the signatories to the AMEB Constitution, one from each of the six states. The Minister responsible for Education is the Queensland signatory. Under the AMEB Constitution, each signatory is to establish a state advisory committee. The Queensland AMEB Advisory Committee is responsible for advising the Minister on the conduct of AMEB examinations and on examination policies.
    Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority
    Functions of the QCAA include to: develop and revise senior secondary syllabuses; develop and accredit kindergarten guidelines; provide resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs, from kindergarten to Year 12; administer the National Assessment Program—Literacy and Numeracy tests (NAPLAN) in Queensland; develop, administer and mark external assessment for senior subjects for eligible Year 12 students; determine procedures and provide quality assurance for Queensland's system of assessment in the senior phase of learning; develop and administer procedures for student certification, including the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA); maintain student accounts (records of achievements); and register and support schools to deliver vocational education and training (VET) in schools.

    The University’s functions are to disseminate knowledge and promote scholarship; provide education at university standard; provide facilities for, and encourage, study and research; encourage the advancement and development of knowledge, and its application; provide courses of study or instruction to meet the needs of the community; confer higher education awards; provide facilities and resources for the wellbeing of the university's staff, students and other persons undertaking courses at the university; exploit commercially, for the university's benefit, a facility or resource of the university,; to perform other functions given to the university under the UQ Act or another Act.
    The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award State Award Committee
    The State Award Committee provides strategic guidance for the delivery of the Award in Queensland and promotes the Award through industry and community networks.
