Each HHS is governed and controlled by a Hospital and Health Board (HHB). The HHB appoints the chief executive of the health service and controls the financial management of the HHS and the HHSs staff, land and buildings. A HHS is accountable, through the Board Chair, to the Minister for Health for local performance, delivering local priorities and meeting national health standards.
